Supported Employment Program
Our Mission is “to provide clients with the opportunity to obtain competitive work with higher wages and increased hours, and to gain greater independence through the provision of supportive services.”
St. Martin’s employment services division will be following nationwide best practices by adopting the Supported Employment Program model. We strive to meet the following goals:
· Rapid placement into competitive employment, within 30 days of first contact with client
· Time-unlimited employment support services
· Complete wrap around services
Clients will receive support services so that they can obtain employment in the community in which they live in a rapid manner. Once employed, clients will have access to a case worker, a job coach, and behavioral health providers when needed.
Research has shown that people experiencing mental illness can and do succeed in the workforce when they are involved with wrap around support services.
We assist with Resumes, master applications, on-line application, cover letter and interview thank you letters, Job Access (Cab Ride), Case by case employment assessments and re-assessments, Financial literacy, mock interviews, dress for success/personal hygiene and provide interview clothing; also assist with job search, job placements, job retention and follow-up.
Our Job Developers pick and bring in interns to The Coffee Shop, a job training program to get people work experience and back into the job market. They also do training to get people within the program the ability to search for jobs online, something many have never had experience with. In this way, the program is helping clients go from homeless to self sufficient.
