Housing Department (Community Housing Resources)St. Martin's Hospitality Center Housing Department, also known as Community Housing Resources, is a separate 501(c)3 organization. The housing department is staffed by a Housing Director, a Housing Coordinator, a full-time maintenance technician and housing managers. SMHC is an approved Affordable Housing Development Organization and has purchased 10 apartment facilities. Most of the properties are located in southeastern Albuquerque, close to bus routes and shopping facilities. The management of St. Martin's is committed to maintaining these properties in good shape and working with local neighborhood associations and businesses in an effort prove to be good neighbors. Some of these properties house programs sponsored in part by the City of Albuquerque. Other properties were in use as affordable housing under subsidy from Section 8 of from persons of low income directly subsidized by HUD. SMHC is desirous of improving and maintaining these units in a way that improves the over-all living conditions of the residents and the neighborhoods. Housing Owned By Community Housing Resources Community Housing Resources owns apartment complexes totaling 97 units. These units are managed by SMHC staff. Property #1: Twenty-four bedroom units leased in total by Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless to house persons qualified under the HUD Supportive Housing Program. This facility has been used for this purpose since 1995. Property #2: This property consists of 12 units that are used for long-term transitional housing for individuals qualified for federal assistance under the Supportive Housing Program and for permanent housing for persons qualified under Section 8 as well as persons for the general public currently living in poverty. Property #3: A thirteen united renovated motel currently housing participants and office of the Intensive Employment Program. Property #4: These are 2 duplexes and a sixteen-plex totaling 20 units. The property is used primarily as transitional housing for families under Supportive Housing programs. Property #5: These are 12 units in three four-plexes. Eight of the units are used to house the Bridges for Women program which receives funding for the City. The remaining 4 units are used to house individuals qualified for HUD subsidized housing for Section 8. Property #6: These 11 apartments are used for SMHC clients who are enrolled in the Supportive Housing Program. Property #7: This six-bedroom home has been used as a group program home.
